AoC won "Gullstikka"(Golden joystick) Award in Norway for "Best Norwegian poduced game".

What I'd like to know is, what was the competition?

My guess is that the competiotion was a game
where u had to invent the "osthyvel" then make some "brunost"
to to use it on all made in shockwave or some other stupid webinterface.

The other canidates was:

The gamedevelopment community in Norway is rather small, where FC is far the largest of them. But the other three games is kids game if I am not mistaken, but the award does not consider what the market is (kids, adult etc) They look at the game itself and development and also norwegians may vote for their favorite aswell.

But still nice with an award to put on the shelf I guess. hehe

There's definitely a difference in funding for those games.

I have to take it back a little though after checking them out.
actually 2/3 of the competition involves a 3D engine.
And would not be surprised if Riding club have a larger
playerbase than AoC since horseriding game should apeal
lots of small girls (including our dear RL).
But yes the fundings difference should be astronomical.
